As  Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is taking effort in various ways in order to develop hotels and tourism sector,  to make international tourists enter Myanmar and visit smoothly and conveniently within the country, Union Minister for Hotels and  Tourism, U OhnMaung, headed the meeting on the use of digital marketing for Myanmar tourism promotion at Chatrium Hotel in Yangon this morning. At the meeting, participants discussed methods for tourism promotion on the use of digital technology and methods to attract tourists from Hong Kong to visit Myanmar.

Then, at the ceremony held on board the Alexandra Cruise, in the evening, Union Minister appointed ONE Middle Weight, Light Heavyweight World Champion Aung La N Sang as Myanmar’s Tourism Ambassador. Union Ministers Dr. Than Myint, NaingThetLwin and Cheif Minister for Yangon Region U PhyoMin Thein, Deputy Minister U TharOo and Dr. Mya Lay Sein and Yangon Mayor U MaungMaungSoe, Permanent Secretary U Bratsin,  Deputy Director Generals and officials, Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation U Yan Win and officials from affiliated associations attended the ceremony.

In his speech at the ceremony, U OhnMaung said Kachin-born MMA( Mixed Martial Arts world champion, Aung La N Sang has been appointed as Myanmar’s Tourism Ambassador to promote Myanmar tourism sector, taking responsibility headed by Union Minister and organized by relevant officials from the ministry in order to make tourism development and to attract tourists from Japan, Korea, China, ASEAN countries and European countries. He also expressed that appointing prominent vocalists, actors and  actressesas Tourism Ambassadors supports the development of Myanmar tourism and to make Myanmar tourism interesting among international tourists, and these ambassadors will make Myanmar know by posting about Myanmar tourist destinations on their social media pages. He said that therefore Japan Country Vocalist Mr. KantaKoorie and Japan famous designer Madam Junko Koshino have been appointed as ambassadors for Myanmar and Japan tourism promotion and Myanmar-born Japan vocalist and actor Morisaki Win as Myanmar Tourism Ambassador to promote Myanmar tourism in Japan Market. In addition, Union Minister expressed his belief that today ceremony was held to appoint Kachin-born Mixed Martial Artist Aung La N Sang as Tourism Ambassador and to make effectively tourism promotion for Myanmar in American Market.

Yangon Region’s Chief Minister and the UMTA Chairman also delivered speeches at the ceremony. Aung La N Sang also expressed his gratitude for being chosen as the tourism ambassador.

Afterwards, the MTF, Myanmar Tourism Marketing and Aung La N Sang signed MOU. Union Minister U OhnMaung conferred tourism ambassador accreditation to Aung L N Sang and the ceremony was finished, according to the information.
