As the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is performing for smoothing the way to visit Myanmar, the meeting to negotiate the permission of visiting Myanmar with international cruises including the M.V Silver Discoverer cruise during the peak season was held at the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism on 6 December 2018.
With the leading of U Ohn Maung, Union Minister for the Ministry, the representatives from Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Transportation and Communication, Ministry of Labor, Immigration and Population, Ministry of Planning and Finance, States Government of Mon, Rakhine, and Tanintharyi and the relevant person from the tour companies which will arrange for those trips attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Union Minister delivered a speech that today meeting is for the permission of visiting Yangon, Mawlamyine and Ngapali beach in Myanmar by international visitors with the M.V Silver Discoverer cruise from 5th February 2019 to 5th March 2019 with the arrangement of Abercrombic & Kent Int’l Ltd. And the Excellency also mentioned that the international cruises arrived at Myanmar for 20 times with (20,714) travelers in 2017 and they came for 23 times with (21,757) travelers during the period of January to November 2018 and gave thanks to the related departments which helped everything for those trips to be convenient, and requested the representatives from related departments to explain about the rules, regulations, orders and other required documents which tour company need to have when they arrange the international cruise tours.
Then, U Barat Singh, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, encouraged the representatives from related departments to completely discuss the applying visa, security and tax related to the international cruise tours. The relevant representatives discussed and submitted their performances concerning with the cruise tours respectively. Finally, the Union Minister concluded the meeting by discussing the necessary things for systematically preparation, safety and security, and cooperation with the departments.
