U Ohn Maung, the Minister of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism receives the trainers and trainees from Mandalay Hotel and Vocational Training Institute

Trainers and trainees (Total-129 persons) from Mandalay Hotel and Vocational Training Institute-MHVTI arrived to Nay Pyi Taw on that day morning for an excursion and met with the minister and responsible persons from the Ministry.

During the excursion, the Minister delivered the situation of tourism in Myanmar in which the number of international tourist arrivals in 2017 was 3.44 millions and in 2016 was 2.9 millions and 18.6% increases. We need to give high quality service for the increasing numbers of visitors and for that matter, we can create more job opportunities. To develop Myanmar tourism systematically and become sustainable, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism proclaimed the Myanmar Tourism Master Plan (2013-2020). The Master Plan revealed about Human Resources Development was emphasized in the master plan, cooperation of the ministry and other Foreign Development Foundations for the development of human resources in tourism industry and as for the human resourses development in tourism law, education and private sector, we developed the Human Resource Development Strategic Plan by the support of LuxDev.

Mandalay Hotel and Vocational Training Institute-MHVTI was founded in November, 2012 and lectures the pre-working condition courses needed in hotels and tourism sector practically and theoretically. Moreover, cooperates with the hoteliers to receive job opportunities for the trainees and assesses the trainees to receive State level certificates. From 2012 to till now, MHVTI produced (1803) persons successfully and MHVTI received ASEAN Accredited Training Institute Award in 2nd International Conference on ASEAN MRA-TP hosted in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Tourism sector can implement more job opportunities for the local people that include all ages and all education. Moreover it is a critical economic sector for promoting the income of our country more and more.

The student of training class learned about the related subjects based on the professional standard for ASEAN and Myanmar. The ministry expects them to benefit the tourism and subjects they learned because they must participate later intourism industry.

For Myanmar, the minister delivered about the cooperation of public and private for Human Resource Development and as the public sector to conduct more programs and as the student of Mandalay Hotel and Vocational Training Institute to give more services and to become the successful industry in hotels and tourism of Myanmar.

And representative from the Mandalay Hotel and Vocational Training Institute gave words of encouragement and took a commemorative photo. Then the minister warmly greeted with the students and teachers from training class.

Then, we informed that the excursion group went to the Amyotha Hlut Taw, Pyi Thu Hlut Taw, The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Hilton Hotel school from Nay Pyi Taw and leaved to Mandalay  in the evening.

Completion Ceremony of the Basic Training on Hotel Services - Course Number (1/2018) was held in Lashio

Basic Training on Hotel Services – Course Number (1/2018)organized by the Hoteliers Association (Northen Shan State) under the supervision of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, had been opened from 4th to 29th June 2018 in order to improve service standards of hotels and resorts in northen Shan State; to create job opportunities for young local people;and to support human resource development in hotels and tourism industry of the state. The completion ceremony of the training was held at 9:00 am on 29th June 2018 in Lashio Motel Hall, Lashio.

Deputy Director U Thet Lin from Lashio Branch Office from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism gave a course completion speech. He said that hotels and resorts from the northen Shan State should implement for the improvement of service standards;to implement for achieving market share by discovering new destinations to enable the visitors to come and visit; that hoteliers and hotel staffs should develop more benefits by attracting visitors and by maintaining the services standards relying on each other; and that the trainees should apply the methods and techniques learned in the workplace.

Then awards were given to the outstanding students, trainers and the certificate of honour to the supporters. U ZawZaw, Chairman of the Hotelier Association (Northen Shan State) gave a closing speech for the ceremony. He said that hotel service courses were successfully held under the supervision of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism; courses were also given in Muse and will be given in Hsipaw. Then he closed the ceremony by saying thanks to the people who supported for the course and by saying that we need to perform for the development of the region with unity.

Staffs from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism and Lashio Branch Office, accountable persons from the Hoteliers Association (Northern Shan State), hoteliers, trainees and the persons invited, totally (90)people attended the Completion Ceremony of the Basic Training on Hotel Services – Course Number (1/2018). There were (45) trainees the hospitality course and (29) trainees at the housekeeping course and totally (74) trainees completed the course.

Tourists are Visiting Myanmar through Tachileik Border Gate

Tourists are continually visiting Myanmar to explore natural resources, tourist destinations, customs and traditions, lifestyles of different ethnic groups through International gateways and Border Gates.

From June 22th  to 28th in 2018,it is learnt that there were  (18172 )tourists (mostly from Thailand and Third Countries )on day trips  and overnight stay tour, (113) tourists on Minepyat-Kengtung trip through Tachileik Border Gate as well as (109) tourists with visa through Tachileik Airport.

Most of the day trippers paid a visit to Tarlok Market, Bayint Naung Statue, Mahamyat Muni pagoda, Wankaung Market, Koemyoshin Shrine, Tachileik Shwedagon Pagoda, downtown Community hall for Buddhists, Padaung Village, Two Dragon Monastery, Chinese Monastery and Kyauttan Market where are tourist attractions in Tachileik.

Overnight stays Tourists visited Buddha’s Sole Pagoda,Zaytangyi Monestery, Santawshin Sontaung Pagoda in Minepyat town and  Buddha Garden, Kengtung Mahamyatmuni Pagoda,Hokone Monastery, Mya Monestery, Kengyin Monastery, Wan-in Monestery, Sontaung Pagoda, Kyawt-sayi Pagoda, Yakone Monestery, Pa-hlain Monestry, Statue of Standing Buddha, One tree Hill, Kaba-aye Pagoda, Sanpya yanlok Village, Nine-storey Waterfalls near  Kattaung Village where are famous destinations.


It is  learnt that there were( 198634 ) tourists (mostly from Thailand and Third Countries )on day trips  and overnight stay tour, (2106) tourists on Minepyat-Kengtung trip through Tachileik Border Gate as well as (1690) tourists with visa through Tachileik Airport from April 1st  June 28th in 2018.

Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Support to (2017-2018) Scholarships and Scholastic Award Celebration

With the support of scholarships(2018-2019) for the children of the staff of Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and for the 2017-2018 academic year, scholastic award ceremony with honors students who have achieved outstanding was held on 27th June, 2018 in the afternoon at Jade Hall, Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.

In this ceremony, the opening remarks of H.E U OhnMaung, Ministry of Hotels and Tourism,to the students are that today’s economists for the nation are the students, ProfessionalState benefits will become occurred in younger generation. In accordance with the expected physical,mental consolidate and the emergence of the state in today’s advanced human resources, young people always need to learn the current trends and smart survival of effort to be able to stand ever need. Human resources need to live, along with the sacred heart of beauty in the world,In addition, a good-hearted attitude to make sacred good training are said to conduct themselves.

Then, the Minister awarded the students for the total of (447) and supported the amount of (MMK 5,174,000/-) that was received by Permanent Secretary and Deputy Director General with the courtesy. After that, the Minister and Permanent Secretary awarded the students who achieved the matriculations with flying colors with Certifications and Scholarships.

Finally, Ma Moe PwintPhyu who achieved the matriculation exam with 5 distinctions extended thanks to the ceremony on behalf of the students.

Myanmar Responsible Tourism Institute Workshop

            At the ceremony of sexual exploitation of knowledge promotion,General Secretary of Mawlamyinedistrict, U Toe Lwin delivered an opening speech for protecting the children on the online and tourism sector and director from Myanmar Responsible Tourism Institute (MRTI), U Yi Pawl Arwar delivered the greetings. U ThanHlaingOoexplained the results from the research of sexual exploitation of knowledge promotionfor protecting the children on the online and tourism sector. Then, U Than Hlaing delivered to concern with the child safe tourism,DawKhin Than Htwe from the coordinating team for the capacity development of women and child delivered to concern with the activities of save the children, deputy staff officer from the Directorate of Social Welfare, Daw Saw Ohmar alsodelivered to concern with the activities of save the children.Police captain U Moe Oo from Police Force for Anti-Human Trafficking explained the process of Anti-Human Trafficking,U Min AungMyint from World Vision explained the activities of save the children and the process of Anti-Human Trafficking and director from Myanmar Responsible Tourism Institute (MRTI), U Yi Pawl Arwar also explained. And they made a group discussion to concern with the title of Child Prostitution,sexual exploitationand Anti-Human Trafficking.

At the workshop, Deputy Director General and office staff from Mawlamyine office, members from the Hotelier Association and Myanmar Women’s Affair Federation attended  and finished workshop at  4:30 PM.
