Union Minister U Ohn Maung attended and delivered an opening speech community-based tourism standards conference in Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw at 9:00 AM. In the speech, Union Minister said since he had taken charge of Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, he has built foundation to promote Myanmar tourism in sustainable ways, especially in exploring new destinations, creating tourist attrations for tourist long-stay;basic standards to implement community-based tourism in regions and states will emerge by identifying community-based tourism standards for Myanmar and can directly benefit to local community and he would like to show special thanks to responsible persons from LUX DEV, GIZ, CBI and CBT Network as well as to discuss for emerging community-based tourism standards that are suitable with Myanmar.
At this conference, responsible persons from relevant ministries, representatives that are performing community-based tourism, representatives from development partners and representatives from tourism asssociations attended. This conference will be held for two days from December 7 to December 8, 2017.
