Foreigners that have a residence in Myanmar and are in the country are allowed to do domestic travel as per the Union and regional rules.

Entry and Exit Requirements Traveling to Myanmar:


 Land Borders:

  • No entry for foreign nationals through Myanmar land borders until March 31.


  • The Myanmar government notice to E-visa application for Business Visa is now open: HERE.

Allow – also for Foreign Residents.


Accommodations & Restaurants

  • All hotels, motels, guest houses, inns are reopening according to the tourism national guidelines of Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
  • Restaurants are also open with the rules and guidelines of Ministry of Health and Sports..

Other Tourism Activities

  • Amusement parks, National parks, Museums, Recreational areas have been temporarily closed until further notice.
  • All mass gatherings, festivals and entertainment events are currently banned.

Overall Updated Covid-19 Information

  • Mask is obligated in all public places.
  • According to the Ministry, anyone violating the order could face punishments, as set out in the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases Law.

  • Ministry of Health and Sports has extended the 14-day facility quarantine to 21-day community based facility quarantine/hotel quarantine and 7-day home quarantine, totalling 28-day quarantine on April 11, 2020.
  • The government has instituted wide-spread closures of public events, entertainment venues, restaurants, and religious institutions, and encouraged people to stay at home.
