Held in March in Thibaw Township of Shan State, this festival is ideal for those who wish to witness the diverse culture and tradition of the Shans. Monks who have provided locals with religious services and prayers are offered donations of necessities that are enough to sustain for the entire year ahead. Locals donate to the monks and seek blessings from them and the Lord Buddha in return. They would pay respects to the pagoda and proceed to purchase items from vendors who sell various goods and produce in the festival. Tourists can also join the locals in celebrating this festival and buying souvenirs from them.
