HIGHLIGHTS

Jump back in time as farmers and vendors sell their products on ox-carts in a traditional environment. Monks will recite prayers to honour the pagoda.

This festival is held during a traditional Buddhist holiday. Villagers surround the temple to celebrate this joyous day. The temple turn into a carnival-like environment filled with farmers and vendors who pour in with ox-carts carrying items and farm produce to be sold to market visitors. Tourists can jump back in time as they immerse themselves in the festival that features the traditional environment of Sagaing Region. Earnings made by vendors are donated to the maintenance of pagodas and the wellbeing of the monks. In the midst of the bustling market, monks in red robes recite prayers to honour the pagoda during the festival.
