This festival takes place in Magwe Division (Pa Khan, Yayzagyo Township) on February (3rd Waxing to 10th Waxing of Tabaung). It is celebrated by Nat (spirits) worshippers in Myanmar. Ko Gyi Kyaw Nat is a happy and joyous spirit who loves to drink and gamble. Nat worshippers who also worship Ko Gyi Kyaw Nat would provide offerings like food, drinks and money. Some provide these offerings to get his blessings for their businesses and wealth. Locals who are celebrating the spirit also drink alcoholic beverages and eat the spirit’s favourite delicacies. Tourists can find vendors selling all types of food that are favoured by the cheerful spirit, most notably roasted chicken that is eaten by the locals to cure hangovers.
