International Visitors enter and depart via Tachileik Border Gate

International Visitors continue to arrive through theInternational Gateways and Border gates around Myanmar. Their main purpose of visit is to take the opportunity to see Myanmar with all its natural scenery, traditional customs and culture of ethnic groups, as well as enjoy the food and the friendly people.
From the 7thJune to 13thJune, 2019, there were 22,506 overnight stay/ day-return visitors from Thailand and 327 visitors from other countries arriving via the Tachileik Border Gate. At Kyaing Tong trip, 78visitors from other countries, the majority being Thai nationals and 1182international visitors,on domestic day trips, arrived.
For those on day-return trip, they visited Talot Market in Tachileik, Bayintnaung Statue, Mahamyatmuni Buddha Image, Wonkaung Market, Komyoshin Natnan, Shwedagon Pagoda, City centre Chapels, Padaung Village, Two Dragon Sayadaw Monastery, Kwanyin Maetaw and Chinese Monastery and Kyauktan Market.
The overnight tripinternational visitors, visited Buddha’s foot Pagoda in Minephat, Zaytangyi Monastery, Buddha Garden, Mahamyatmuni, Hokone Kyaung, Mya Pagoda, Kyaingyin Monastery, Watin Kyaung, Sontaung Pagoda, Kyawtsari Pagoda, Yankon Monastery, Parlan Kyaung, Yatawmu, One Tree Mountain, Kabar Aye Pagoda, Sanpyayanlaw Village, Nine step Waterfall in Kataung Village.
Other visitors then travelled into Myanmar visiting destinations such as Heho, Yangon, Mandalay, Myitkyina- and Lashio. All of these can be reached by air from Tachileik.
From 1st January to 13 June 2019, at the Tachileik Border, there were 503,107 Thai visitorsand6333 visitors from other countries on day-return trips and overnight trips. AtLantaungthere were 191 Thai visitorson day-return trips and 6233 visitors to Minephat and Kyaing Tong.
Also, during the same period, 32, 818 visitors with visa exemption entered Myanmar.
