MoHT Union Minister inspects hotels, tourism development in Magway, Mandalay regions

UNION Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung attended the opening ceremony of the Information Centre at Magway Myathalun Pagoda together with Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, the regional minister for economy and relevant officials on 15 May. During the ceremony, the Union minister said the Information Counters are established to provide accurate information and systematic development of the tourism industry. It should distribute the tourism development pamphlets to share the news and save the data on computers. The counter staff should have a wealth of local knowledge of the destinations. After that, the Union minister and party inspected the Information Counter opened at Magway Airport and left the necessary things. The Union minister then went to the Highway Bus Terminal of Magway Township and addressed the need to establish an information counter at the bus terminal for the passengers. He also discussed hotels and tourism development programmes with the region economic minister, officials of the region tourism committee and hoteliers at the meeting hall of the regional government and gave the Health and Safety Protocol Certification to three hotels. At noon, the Union minister also attended the opening ceremony of commodity manufacturing training courses for the people with disabilities jointly conducted by the Social Welfare Department, Small-Scale Industries Department and Directorate of Hotels and Tourism at the training hall of the Small-Scale Industries Department in Magway Township and provided the cash assistance to the trainees. The Union minister then inspected the Bagan-NyaungU Tower maintenance works and preparations for providing services to domestic and foreign tourists. He also met officials of relevant departments, hotels and tourism organizations at Heritage Bagan Hotel yesterday.
