UNION Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine received Mr David Liu, Chairperson of the Exploring Myanmar Culture and Tourism Organization based in Yangon, Myanmar, yesterday morning at the Union Minister’s guest hall. The discussion centred on strengthening Myanmar-China tourism promotion efforts.
Key points included enhancing collaboration between government and private sectors from both nations, increasing awareness of Myanmar’s tourist destinations among Chinese travellers through Chinese social media platforms, and encouraging Chinese investors to engage in Myanmar’s hotel and tourism sectors.
They also explored inviting Chinese tourists via maritime cruise ships, organizing cruise trips, and advancing tourism promotion initiatives. The Union Minister and Mr David Liu discussed cooperative opportunities with the Exploring Myanmar Culture and Tourism Organization to attract more Chinese visitors.
At the meeting, Mr David Liu received a formal certificate recognizing him as a representative of Myanmar-China tourism promotion. — MNA/KZL
