Myanmar President, PRC President discuss closer bilateral ties in various sectors

  U WIN Myint, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar had a telephone conversation with His Excellency Mr Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China on 20 May 2020 at 18:10. During the telephone conversation, the two leaders focused their discussions on matters related to China’s commendable achievement in successfully controlling the COVID-19, closer collaboration between the two countries in combatting the pandemic, China’s continued provision of medical supplies and other assistance related to COVID-19 response in Myanmar. Moreover, they also cordially discussed further enhancement of  the existing friendly relations and expansion of cooperation based on the spirit of the community of shared future, joint celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China as the situation of COVID-19 improves, strengthening cooperation between the two countries in maintaining peace and stability at the border areas and combat ting the pandemic, continued cooperation in regional and international arenas. They also discussed on exchanging high level visits in post Covid-19 period and speeding up the implementation of projects under the Belt and Road Initiatives and Myanmar-China Economic Corridor which were agreed during President Xi’s State Visit to Myanmar earlier this year.— MNA Source from; The Global New Light of Myanmar
