Myanmar takes part in 32nd Joint Meeting of UNWTO Commission

THE 32nd Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UNWTO Commission for South Asia (32nd CAP-CSA) was held online on 30 June.
Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Tin Latt, the director-general, the deputy directors-general, the directors, ministers and high-ranking officials from the UNWTO Asia-Pacific Member States, representatives from partner countries, principals from the universities of Hong Kong and Macau and senior officials from UNWTO participated in the online meeting.
Mr Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the UNWTO, explained works and activities, followed by the discussions of representatives from Asia-Pacific countries on resuming tourism businesses, the interventions by CAP/CSA Ministers on policy issues in response to COVID-19, and innovation and technology in tourism investment.
Deputy Minister U Tin Latt discussed Myanmar’ relief plan from the impacts of pandemic, the use of state budget for recovery plan in tourism industry, promotion of this business under the COVID-19 Myanmar Tourism Strategic Road Map and coordination with international organizations.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
