The upcoming 5th National Sports Festival of 2024 will be grandly held at Wanna Theikdi Stadium in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw from December 9 to 20,2024.
Sport teams from various ministries, states and regions, para-athlete teams will compete in this competition. Then, ministry teams will compete in six sports, while more than states and regions will participate in twenty-six sports. In addition, athletes with disabilities will compete in four sports, making the festival a grand and vibrant occasion. The purposes of organizing the National Sports Festival are (1) to enhance the country’s sports standards, (2) to enable participation and success in international sports competitions, (3) to develop a new generation of athletes who can bring honor to the nation, (4) to foster unity and cooperation between states, regions, and ministries, thereby Promoting sports activities and (5) to encourage greater public interest and participation in sports. Promoting sports sectors enhances the nation’s pride and dignity, fostering patriotism and national spirit. Therefore, national sports events are crucial for the country.
