Tourism Training School

Established in 1992, the Tour Guide Training Courses, Tour Guide (Refreshed Training Course) and Tourism Management (Basic) Courses are available in Tourism Training School.

Scope of the Training

The Tour Guide Training includes the following scopes:

  1. To understand the rules and regulations of Tourism
  2. To be aware of the principles and ethics that a tour guide must follow
  3. To be able to provide the high-quality guide service
  4. To raise consciousness in preserving religious and cultural heritage
  5. To understand the departmental functions related to tourism business
  6. To understand the terms and conditions related to tourism business
  7. To raise awareness in environmental conservation
  8. To understand architecture and archaeological subjects
  9. To understand Myanmar Literature and Culture as well as to enhance the patriotic mindset
  10. To understand the traditions and customs of ethnic groups

To enhance proficiency level in foreign languages

Procedures for Tour Guide Training

  1. Entrance Test (English, General Knowledge and Oral Test of related language)
  2. Course Fee – (100,000) kyats
  3. Duration – (2) months
  4. Certificate will be awarded after the completion of the program.

Qualifications Required

  • Must have the certificate of Matriculation Examination or any similar level of certification.
  • Must have recommendation letters from the police station and ward administrator.
  • Must be proficient in at least one language.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a National Registration Card.
  • Must be interested in tourism

Procedures for Regional Guide Training

  1. Entrance Test (English, General Knowledge). There will be an entrance test for regions with more than 100 candidates.
  2. Course Fee – (100,000) kyats
  3. Duration – (1) month
  4. Certification and Identity Card will be issued after the completion of the program.

Note: The course fee for this training program will be (100,000) kyats if it is conducted by the arrangement of a particular region and will cost (50,000) kyats if it is delivered by the financial support of the Ministry

Qualifications

  1. Must have the certificate of Matriculation Examination or any similar level of certification.

  6. Must be a local resident of the region.

  1. Entrance Test (English, General Knowledge)
  2. Course Fee – (100,000) kyats
  3. Duration – (2) months
  4. Certificate will be awarded after the completion of the program

Qualifications

  1. Must be graduated.
  2. Must be interested in tourism.
  3. Must currently work in the field of Tourism or Hospitality Industry.
  4. Must be proficient in at least one language.
  5. Must be at least 18 years old and have a National Registration Card.

Tour Guide (Refreshed Course)

This training is intended for those who have a Tour Guide License, but are retained by the Ministry due to an expiry for over 3 years. The criteria are as follows:

  • Must be in the list of Tour Guides retained by the
  • Course Fee – (50,000) kyats
  • Duration – (2) weeks
  • After the program, the tour guide license will be applicable to the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.
