Visitors continue to come to Myanmar in their own cars

Visitors coming to Myanmar in their own vehicles, thought small at this point, continues to grow in popularity.

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism sees thegrowthin this form ofvisitation as an indication of the changing patterns of tourism to Myanmar and encouragesMyanmar tourism operators to work with the Ministry to assist in the growth and development of thisimportantmarketsegment.
Recently, on 2nd June, the Ministry in conjunction with Osuga Myanmar Co. Ltd, made arrangement of 4 French tourists to enter Myanmar from India at the Tamu Border gate in their own vehicle. From there they visited – Kalay-Monya- Mandalay-Nyaung Oo- Nyaung Shwe- Nansan- Kyaingtone-and departed Myanmar to Thailand through the Border gate at Tachileik.
With the recent announcement of the UNESCO World Heritage listing for Bagan, the level of interest in Myanmar as a destination will continue to grow as more people around the world see Myanmar as a destination of choice due to it great diversity of natural, and cultural precincts.
The role of the Ministry is to facilitate such visits and invites industry operates to contact the Ministry to discuss the ways of encouraging further development of this exciting and valuable market.
