CALLING FOR THE COOPORATION ON THE PRECAUTIONARY RESTRICTIONS FOR TRAVELERS TO MYANMAR
The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been trying its best to develop sustainable tourism in Myanmar and to give travelers safe and securetravel experience.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak has been announced as Pandemic by the World Health Organization at 11:13 P.M Myanmar Standard Time on 11 March 2020.As the respiratory disease COVID-19 can spread rapidly in crowded places, the public is requested not to hold public gatherings, ceremonies and festivals starting from13 March 2020 until April 30, 2020 and the suspension period will be extended if deemed necessary in the Appeal to The People announced by the President Office.
Currently, the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 is increasing in the countries worldwide outside China especially in Italy, the Republic of Korea, Iran, Spain, France and Germany. In response to the situation for the protection of the spread of COVID-19 to Myanmar, international visitors from the above-mentioned countries entering Myanmar with direct flights or visitors with recent travel history to those countries entering from the international airports will be quarantined for (14) days as per the following instructions of the “Precautionary Restrictions for Travels to Myanmar” issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports. Tourism businesses including tour operators providing services to the clients from the above-mention countries are advised to cooperate according to the instructions.
